“Growing up, Ben Himschoot was always told that “if you really want something, make it happen.” Both of his parents were entrepreneurs who owned their own businesses. This allowed him to believe that “a dream can be a possibility.” With this in mind, Himschoot founded his own design business, Himsben Design Studio LLC, in 2017. It was located in Rogers Park until September 2020, when it was moved to Edgewater. Himschoot likes the new Edgewater location for how centrally located it is. He is extremely grateful for how welcoming the Edgewater community has been to him and his business.

Himschoot has a very specific vision for what he believes is good design. “It has to be beautiful, but also functional,” he says. “I'm trying to always achieve something that's really customized for each client that fits their space, that fits their aesthetic, hopefully fits their budget. And also that's going to be practical and durable. Sustainable and practical.”

He attributes his success to a variety of factors, including his fantastic referral network. Most of Himsben Design Studio’s customers come about through word of mouth, as satisfied customers share with their friends and family.”
